VALLEY MEDICAL LABS

Most routine blood tests available, such as blood count, complete thyroid panels, ferritin, cholesterol, iron, liver enzymes. Testing ordered by an ND must be paid for by the patient in our office. A requisition paper will be given to you, which you will bring to the lab within the building, where the sample is collected. Results are received via web portal by Dr. Wiens within 2 days.

GYN EXAMS / PAPS

Yes Dr. Wiens can do your next PAP! For your comfort relaxing music, flannel sheets, and a heated exam table. Your complete Gyn exam includes PAP exam, bimanual exam (checks ovaries, uterus, and vaginal structure), and vaginal swabs for infection if needed. Samples are sent to the BC Cancer Agency, same as with the GP. Exams are 20-25 minutes. If you are not a patient on file, there is a short intake before the exam. Changes to the pap program in 2024 allow most patients to do a self vaginal swab to screen for HPV, instead of a pap exam.

SIBO Breath Test

We partner with the Boucher Naturopathic Medical Clinic to provide SIBO testing. Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) causes abdominal pain, bloating, gas, constipation, and diarrhea. Most cases of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are due to SIBO. For this test, the patient takes home a kit and captures breath samples in glass tubes, which are then tested for bacterial sourced gases.
